Government Affairs Standing Committee
Focus: This standing committee of the Chamber is responsible for recommending positions to the Chamber Board that pertain to local, state and national governmental affairs. This committee has oversight of the six issues task groups charged with being "issues experts" in their respective fields of: Energy, Taxation, Transportation/Managed Growth, Tourism, Healthcare and Workforce/Business Development. It is also expected of this committee to seek partnerships whenever possible in determining the Chambers positions to assure that our community is speaking with one legislative voice. This committee will also formulate opportunities to communicate the Chambers positions to our various audiences. Committee Meeting Schedule: Third Thursday of each month at noon at the Chamber (bring your own lunch)
Issues Task Groups
Focus: Serve as the Chambers vehicle for advocacy relating to local, state, and national issues specific to Energy, Taxation, Transportation/Managed Growth, Tourism, Healthcare and Workforce/Business Development. These groups will evaluate issues; make recommendations to the Government Affairs Committee; publicly state the benefits of their agenda; and support our priority issues through grassroots lobbying efforts.

Destination Marketing Standing Committee
The Billings Chamber/Convention & Visitors Bureau recognizes tourism as vital to Billings economy, directly generating $600 million each year in non-resident expenditures. As such, the DMC exists to explore methods to further Billings tourism as a local employer and economic boon, as well as the leisure and business traveler destination of choice. Committee Meeting Schedule: Second Tuesday of each month at noon (bring your own lunch).
Ambassadors Standing Committee
To help strengthen member involvement by educating members about the benefits and services of their Chamber membership. The committee will work closely with the member development department to help achieve our annual retention rate of 87% by serving as a resource person for all new Chamber members. The Ambassadors will attend Chamber events to help provide information and act as promoters of networking among event attendees. Committee Meeting Schedule: Second Wednesday of each month at various locations.
Blue Blazers Standing Committee
Serve as ambassadors on behalf of the Chamber and the community. Activities include ribbon cuttings for members, welcoming visiting dignitaries, helping with community events as needed and assisting with other Chamber-related events as requested. There are additional charges to serve on this committee. Committee Meeting Schedule: Third Wednesday of each month at noon at the Chamber.
Agriculture Standing Committee
Inform and educate the membership regarding issues and changes related to agriculture. Provide and serve at pancake breakfasts for selected functions and events. Promote and help generate revenue for the Agriculture Banquet and Ag Tour. Committee Meeting Schedule: First Friday of each month at 7:00 a.m. at the Holiday Inn.
Golf Tournament Task Group
The task group will be responsible for helping recruit sponsors and prizes; assist in promotion of the tournament as well as be on hand for the days events. Committee Meeting Schedule: TBD prior to golf tournament.
Salespersons Breakfast Task Group
The group will select a speaker; help with the marketing of the event by selling tickets and tables that will increase attendance; develop a running theme for the event and provide assistance during the event. Committee Meeting Schedule: TBD prior to breakfast.
Awards Task Group
Assist with selecting nominees for SBA Awards and Chamber industry awards. Help with the development and implementation of a new Chamber awards program. Committee Meeting Schedule: TBD
Leads Group
Meet weekly to help member businesses flourish through the exchange of business leads, meeting other professionals, and becoming more involved with the Billings Chamber of Commerce. There is an annual fee of $50.00 for this group. Committee Meeting Schedule: Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. at the Chamber & Tuesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. at the Chamber.
Sports Standing Committee
Focus: Retention and recruitment of non-professional sporting events to Billings. The committee will assist in the following areas: hospitality, volunteerism, staffing at event, event bidding, fundraising and event promotion. Committee Meeting Schedule: Monthly, third Thursday at 8 a.m. at the Chamber.
