Motor Freight:
Billings is served from the south, east and west by the interstate highway system. I-90 and I-94 join at Billings: I-94 is the direct route to the Midwest, while I-90 serves the Pacific Northwest and northern and central Rocky Mountains to the west and south. Federal highways 87, 310 and 212, with state Highway 3, connect Billings with other communities in Montana and Wyoming. There are over 70 authorized motor carriers that travel on regular and irregular routes to and from Billings.

Rail:
The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF) and Montana Rail Link, Inc. (MRL) provides Billings with regular freight service. The two companies provide freight movement anywhere in the United States.

Public Transportation:
The City of Billings' METropolitan Transit (MET Transit) operates 18 routes at various times throughout the day to insure transportation for work, shopping, school, medical and other trips.

MET also provides a special service called MET-Plus for those people who cannot ride the MET buses due to disability. Specially equipped vehicles provide door-to-door service for eligible individuals.
