The Department of Commerce just launched the first Agritourism Grant Program.

The purpose of the Agritourism Grant Program is to assist Montana’s Rural and Tribal agricultural businesses and communities.

The Program is intended to:

  • Encourage Montana’s farmers and ranchers to diversify operations through new or enhanced Agritourism revenue options;
  • develop and enhance Agritourism opportunities, with an emphasis on Rural locations, Under-visited locations, and Tribal Locations;
  • and generate tourism revenue for the benefit of local Montana economies.

Grant guidelines, a pdf version of the application you can use to brainstorm your project, the budget template, scoring information, and some instructions on how to submit an application are available online, using the link below.

Please note – the grant portal will time you out after 60 minutes, so I strongly encourage you to prepare your responses to the grant questions ahead of time, and then copy and paste or retype into the application, just so you don’t lose work.

All applications need to be complete and submitted before 11:59pm on 10/24 – the portal closes at 12:01am on 10/25.

Please email TourismGrants@mt.gov with any questions!
