2018 Public Safety Forum
Public safety is a priority in Billings and we must work together as a community to achieve it. The work to maintain a safe community is never done, and it’s key businesses and residents alike become aware of the proactive work we can do to better position ourselves for success.
We invite you to join us in learning more about public safety issues impacting our community today and how you can adopt best practices in protecting yourself, your employees and your customers from any potential threats. On November 14th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Billings Police Chief Rich St. John, Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder, Billings City Attorney Brent Brooks, and Yellowstone County Attorney Scott Twito invite you to join us at the Northern Hotel for a public safety assessment. There is no cost to attend, and we extend our sincere thanks to the Northern Hotel for graciously offering us their space and refreshments for the event. Click here to register.
At this gathering you will hear from law enforcement leadership who will identify current public safety threats focused within the downtown corridor. Representatives of the Downtown Billings Alliance and Billings Chamber of Commerce will detail public safety initiatives already in place, including the downtown resource officers and the MAAP program. Officers from the Billings Police Department will also discuss the urban engineering concept, which identifies best practices and tools you can use to protect yourself, your customers, and your employees from potential threats. Finally, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and share thoughts as a partner in our mission to achieve public safety. View the invitation from County Attorney Scott Twito here.
