After months of collaboration, the City and County broke ground on a short-term hold facility next to the existing jail. The short-term hold facility will address the problem of “catch-and-release” policing faced by our law enforcement and brought about by an overcrowded jail. The Billings Chamber of Commerce has been supportive of this cooperative effort between City and County and applaud them for working together as problem solvers for our community.
