I would like to see our local police force increased to equal our growing population (ratio measured of course). The lack of an effective lobby in Helena has recently shown here in Billings. From our perspective (my social sphere of influence) more serious crimes are occurring along with the frequency. Our current force cannot effectively cover our expanding population and more and more of my friends and family have been victims of crime. We need a much more populated and visual police presence. Please contact each city council member to let them know how they are failing us. Thanks for your time and effort.
Billings should recognize Martin Luther King day. Montana should too, but Billings shouldn't be held back by the prejudice that dominates the rest of the state. If Billings wants to attract national and regional conventions, then it cannot hold on to the historical prejudice that so dominates Montana history.
The multi-use trail along Rimrock Road should be extended west to Phipps Park. This would provide great access to the park, Agusta Ranch, Ironwood, Copperridge and Falconridge. This would provide so much additional connectivity that it should be a priority.
Shiloh Road is so impressive and it is so enjoyable to drive. Billings needs to build more roads to the Shiloh standards. The roundabouts are great. The landscaping makes a great entrance to Billings. The bike-pedestrian trail is the best in Billings. Shiloh set a new standard. I hope that future roads will be built to that same standard.
It would be great if there were higher standards for new buildings in the Billings area. Bozeman has a great consistency in their building codes and I feel that helps to make for better visually pleasing aesthetics. The buildings all seem to have a theme and I really like how uniform and welcoming that makes the town feel.
I think it would be great if Billings had more opportunities for young business professionals to network. I think a young business professionals golf league would be a great way for people in the community to meet and network. To help eliminate some of the anxiety that comes with meeting new people teams could be made up of 6. People who are interested can sign up in groups of three and then each group of three golfs with a new group every league night. That way attendees always know someone on their team, but they are still able to meet new people.
Require security guards at gas stations at night. People are afraid to go out in billings with weekly robberies at bar casinos Also. Need cameras at public parks and has stations sothe public can also watch out.
Dear Billings Chamber: The bike trails are one of the most impressive things about Billings. We are impressed with how the trail system has grown and how new connections have been made. We support the continued growth and expansion of the trail network in and around the City of Billings.
An overall RE-development plan of Riverfront Park that includes a whitewater park built in to the Yellowstone River. It would create a destination stop for all the vacationer vehicle traffic plus all the local use. Festivals, concerts, etc. See: Reno NV Truckee River Whitewater Park, Gunnison CO Gunnison Whitewater Park, Boise ID Boise River Park, etc. If you have the time check out the video about the development of SouthMain CO at http://www.southmainco.com/index.php/riverpark
After strong winds, 6th Avenue is overrun with refuse from the two recycling companies It is blown out and collects along the street. Have them regularly clean up this area.
